Partner portal

The partner portal is for resellers and partners who introduce merchants to Musqet and sell Musqet products. It is a separate app from the merchant dashboard.

You join by invitation: there is no public sign-up. Musqet sets your partner account up and sends an invitation to your first user, who sets a password and gets in. Everyone in your partner account has one of two roles, owner or salesperson, and a lot of what you can do depends on which you have (see Owners and salespeople).

This page describes the reseller side of the portal, the selling, quoting and billing below. Some partners are introducers only: they introduce businesses to Musqet and see a read-only list of the ones they have introduced, and the reselling below does not apply to them.

Sign in on the portal’s Sign in page with your email and password. If you are new, use the link in your invitation to set a password first. If you have two-factor authentication on, you are then asked for the code from your authenticator app, or one of your backup codes. If you have added a passkey, you can choose Use a passkey instead.

A sign-in lasts 24 hours from your last visit, and never longer than 30 days however often you use the portal. After that you are asked to sign in again.

If you forget your password, choose Forgot your password? on the Sign in page and we email you a link to set a new one. The link opens the reset page in the portal. If your account is temporarily locked after too many wrong attempts, the email we send about that links back here as well, so a reset always returns you to the partner portal rather than the merchant dashboard. A reset link that has expired or was already used says so and links to Request a reset link.

Your Profile page holds your details. You can edit your own name. Your business name, your country and your VAT number are set by Musqet when your account is created (they appear on the quotes and invoices your customers see), so if any of those need changing, contact us.

While signed in, change your password on your Profile page. Enter your current password, then your new one twice, and choose Change password. Your password belongs to your Musqet login, so the new one applies wherever you sign in. Changing it signs you out on every other device, including the merchant dashboard and the Musqet app; the browser you changed it in stays signed in. If you have forgotten your current password, sign out and use Forgot your password? instead.

You can turn on two-factor authentication from your Profile page, with an authenticator app, a passkey or both. For an authenticator app, choose Set up authenticator app, scan the QR code, enter the code it shows, then save the backup codes you are given. Each backup code works once, for when you do not have your phone or passkey.

Two-factor authentication belongs to your Musqet login, not just the partner portal. If you use the same email for the merchant dashboard or the Musqet app, turning it on here asks for a code there too, and removing your last second step in one place turns it off everywhere. See Your account security for more.

Your Profile page also has a Passkeys section. Choose Add a passkey, confirm it is you, then choose Create passkey and follow your browser’s steps. If two-factor authentication is not on yet, your password is enough, and your first passkey turns it on and gives you backup codes to save. You can then use the passkey instead of the code when you sign in, here or on the merchant dashboard. See Passkeys for more.

You get referral links that credit a sign-up to you:

  • an organisation link for your business, and
  • a personal link for each salesperson.

Share the one you want on your marketing. If you change your personal link, the old one stops working and cannot be taken by anyone else, so an old printed card can never credit the wrong person.

An owner can upload your logo, which then appears on the quotes your customers receive. Without one, quotes use a plain Musqet style. This is logo branding; there is no colour or theme customisation.

The dashboard is your at-a-glance view: your prospects and referrals, your active deals, the businesses you have referred, your quote pipeline, recent activity, and an indicative view of your recurring margin. The margin figure is a guide, not your billed amount.

You introduce merchants as prospects.

  • Refer a business creates a prospect with its own tracking, credited to whoever created it.
  • Your prospects lists them. A salesperson sees the prospects they created; an owner sees the whole team’s.
  • Opening a prospect shows its history and where it is up to. Some prospect information (a transcript of their conversation with us) is only shown once you have accepted a short confidentiality undertaking, which each person does once.
  • Notes let you record what happened on a call.
  • The next step is a free-text reminder of what to do next, so nothing is dropped.
  • Reassigning a prospect hands it to another salesperson; this is an owner action.

Your customers are the businesses you look after. Open a customer’s record to see their details. When that customer becomes a live Musqet business, an owner can link the two together so your records and their account line up. Linking a customer to a business is an owner action.

You price up an order in the estimator and manage the results under Quotes.

  • Creating a quote builds it line by line from the Musqet catalogue, and an owner can add own products alongside (your own products are yours; Musqet does not share in them).
  • How a quote is priced. Each catalogue line has a price band, and you set the customer sale price within it. A salesperson sees prices limited to their own commission band, not the underlying economics.
  • Sending a quote produces the customer document (with your branding) and sends it for signing.
  • Approval. If a salesperson’s quote includes a line that needs sign-off, sending it is held for an owner to approve first. An owner can approve it (which completes the send) or reject it (the salesperson re-prices and re-sends). Owners’ own quotes never need approval.
  • Quote statuses move through Draft, Sent, Accepted, Declined, Expired and finally Ordered. An ordered quote is frozen.
  • Placing an order turns an accepted quote into an order. This is an owner action; a salesperson marks an accepted quote ready to order, which notifies an owner to place it.
  • Your orders (deals) lists everything ordered and where it has got to. Order and deal details are owner-only.
  • The catalogue is the set of Musqet products you can sell, plus any own products an owner has added. Your economics are a revenue share, not a simple wholesale cost: each catalogue item has a break-even floor and a ceiling. The floor is the cost that goes to Musqet, and your share is taken on the net revenue, the amount by which the customer price exceeds the floor. The estimator sets this out for each line: the customer price, the cost, the net revenue, the split of that net between you and Musqet, and the total Musqet will invoice you (the cost plus Musqet’s share of the net).
  • Your pricing contracts are the terms your prices are set by. You may hold one or more, and the portal shows a calculator per contract. The terms themselves are set by Musqet; you read them in the portal, you do not edit them.
  • Commission plans are how commission is worked out for your salespeople. An owner sets them up, per product, as a percentage, a percentage above a band, or a tiered rate, optionally with a flat bounty, and assigns them to team members. Managing commission plans is owner-only.
  • The commission report shows per-salesperson earnings on ordered deals, taken from a snapshot frozen at the moment each order was placed, so a later change to a plan never rewrites a past deal. An owner sees the whole team; a salesperson sees only their own.
  • Your team lists the people in your partner account.
  • Inviting a new member is an owner action; they join through the same set-a-password invitation as you did.
  • Roles. There are two, owner and salesperson. What each can do is set out in Owners and salespeople below.
  • Reseller statements are the invoices Musqet raises to you for the products you have sold. These are owner-only, and you can download each as a PDF.
  • Exporting merchant charges gives you a monthly CSV of the charges on the merchants you introduced, at your customer prices. You raise your own invoices to your customers from this; Musqet does not invoice your customers directly.

The portal has a notification bell for what has happened on your account, and an owner can choose which of a few events also send an email: a referral signing up, an invoice being issued, and a quote being accepted. The bell always shows them regardless.

Much of the portal is limited to an owner, because it touches money and the whole organisation: approvals, placing orders, the team, commission plans, customer-to-business links, reassigning prospects, adding own products, and statements. A salesperson works with prospects and quotes, and sees their own figures. One more thing worth knowing: Musqet can act on your behalf to help set up a sale, so a quote or deal may occasionally appear that you did not create yourself.
